Pembroke, Ont. April 23
At her home in the Township of Alice, near Shady Nook, the death occurred last night of a very well-known and much esteemed woman of that section, Mrs. Fred Biesenthal. She was born in Germany, July 28, 1858.
Her maiden name was Caroline Johanna Kulke, and she came to Canada with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kulke, in 1873, and settled in Alice Township, near Shady Nook.
There she was married and of a family of 14 children 13 survives follows: Mrs. Wm. Sear, Petawawa; Mrs. R. Knuth, Golden Lake; Mrs. Wm. Sack, Wilberforce; Mrs. Wm. Kirk, Mrs. Henry Noack, and Mrs. F. Biesenthal, Shady Nook; Clara, at home; Herman, of Alice; John of Golden Lake; Gustave, Shady Nook; Adolph, at home; Ferdinand, of Pembroke, and Rev. Walter Biesenthal, of Clifford, Ont. Her husband also survives.
The funeral will take place at 1:30 Friday afternoon to Grace Lutheran Church and cemetery at Locksley.4
