     Joseph was born circa 1821 in England.2,3 Joseph married Louise Holmes before 1854.1,4,5 The informant on his death registration was E S Legard.3 He died on 10 February 1894 in Artemesia Twp., Grey County, Ontario, Canada. Note that the year of death on his gravestone does not agree with his death registration. However, his son, James, did die in 1881. If the monument was raised years after his death, there may have been confusion about the year of death. Age given as 73 years 6 months is close to the 73 years given on his death registration.3,2 Joseph Legard was buried in Flesherton Cemetery, Flesherton, Artemesia Twp., Grey County, Ontario, Canada.2
