     He was born circa 1815 at Yorkshire, England.2 William married Caroline Hightman on 20 August 1837 at Coteau-du-Lac, Lower Canada, British North America.3,1,4
     He died on 20 July 1899 at Lot 7, Conc 2 at Admaston Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada, according to Ontario Death Registration 022951.2 The informant on his death registration was his son, Bryan Briscoe.2
     His name was also recorded as William Brisco.5
