Miss Edna Zummach, Walter E. Kohrs Will Marry February 8
     Announcement of the approaching marriage of Miss Edna Zummach, daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Charles F. Zummach, 1415 Osborn street, to Walter E. Kohrs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Kohrs, 922 Linden street, was made at a party held at the home of Miss Zummach last evening. The wedding will take place at the Zummach home Friday, Feb. 8, at 5 p. m. Preceding the announcement made during the serving of refreshments, games were played. Guests present at the affair were Miss Elizabeth Orthner, Miss Ruth Marie Fehseke, Miss Ruth Lohmann, Miss Mildred Brenneke, Gordon Fromm, John Kuechmann and Donald Kohrs.7

     The following article appeared in the Burlington, Iowa Burlington Daily Hawk Eye Gazette, 9 February 1935 :
Miss Zummach Bride Of Walter Kohrs At Home Ceremony
     Miss Edna Laura Zummach and Walter E. Kohrs were united in marriage at the home of the bride's parents the Rev. and Mrs. Charles Zummach Friday afternoon at o'clock.
     The Rev. Mr. Zummach read the single ring service in the presence of the immediate families. Miss Elizabeth Orthner and John Kuechmann were attendants.
     The bride was attired in a dress of navy blue tree-bark crepe and she carried Johanna Hill roses. Miss Orthner wore a black crepe dress and a shoulder corsage of Briar Cliff roses.
     Mr. and Mrs. Kohrs departed immediately after the ceremony on a honeymoon trip.
     Mrs. Kohrs attended Coe college, Cedar Rapids. Mr. Kohrs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Kohrs of this city, was graduated from the University of Iowa. He is a member of the editorial staff of the Hawk-Eye Gazette.13

     Walter and Edna Kohrs appeared on the 1940 U.S. Federal Census of Burlington, Des Moines County, Iowa, enumerated April 1940, described as State Editor for a Daily Newspaper.2
     The following biographical information is from my (Rick Moffat's) personal knowledge or recollections, 1946:
Walter Kohrs collaborated with his father-in-law, Charles F Zummach in editting the book "Religion in the ranks" which was published in 1946.5

     In the obituary of Rev. Charles Zummach who died 10 March 1963, his son-in-law, Walter E. Kohrs, was listed as a survivor.14
     In the obituary of Lydia Zummach who died 2 June 1972, her son-in-law, Walter Kohrs, was listed as a survivor.15

     In the obituary of Edna Laura Zummach who died 29 March 2000, her husband, Walter E. Kohrs, was listed as predeceased.16
