By 1961 she had returned to Ontario.
When we received news of her death in Nov 1962, my brother Lori thought she died with a "tack in her heart." He was 6 at the time.19

The following obituary appeared in the newspaper The Breese Journal published in Breese, Illinois 29 September 1938:
Mother of Trenton Pastor Dies
Rev. Charles Zummach, pastor of the Trenton Baptist church received the sad news that his beloved mother had passed away the early part of last week at the age of 73 years, following a long period of illness during which time she suffered a great deal. She was very happy to see her son who paid her a visit about a month, ago.
The deceased was a very religious person, lead a very good life confident that by so doing she would spend her eternity in heaven seeing God face to face forever. She was tenderly laid to rest beside the remains of her husband who preceded her in death 35 years ago, before, but not in spirit. Thus the last link with the past is broken here, to be re-united again in the land where there shall be no more death, no more sorrow and no more pain, where God shall wipe all tears from our eyes.
We extend sympathy to Rev. Zummach, of Trenton, to Mrs. Strobel in Humboldt, Ill., other relatives and their many friends.30

The following analysis is from my personal research and reflects my attempts to consolidate information from different sources.
It appears that Carolina Runtz , daughter of Charles Frederick Able and Lena Risk, was actually their foster daughter. Based upon her identification as a sister of Carl Frederick William Runtz, her biological parents were William Runtz and Charlotte Abel. Were Charles Able and Charlotte Able siblings?31

In a January 2 story (page 141) it is noted that four pairs of silver fox had arrived at the Sterling Silver Black Fox ranch at Killaloe (established by J.H. Zummach.)38
J. H. Zummach was the informant on the death registration of his nephew, John Lyle Verch, who died on 2 December 1930.39 In a January 2 story (page 141) it is noted that four pairs of silver fox had arrived at the Sterling Silver Black Fox ranch at Killaloe (established by J.H. Zummach.)38

The following newspaper article appeared in the book Reflections of a Century compiled by the Eganville Leader (2002) at Eganville at Ontario originally published 4 September 1931 :
1931 Briefs: September 4 -- Barns and Threshing Mill Burn
On Wednesday morning on Mr. James Harrington's premises near Killaloe, just as threshing operations were finished, a fire was caused, and, in an instant, the whole interior of the barn was enveloped in flames. There was not even time to remove the mill. It was consumed, together with two barns, a cow byre, two sheds and all the feed, which included about 50 tons of hay. The loss is estimated at $3,000 or $4,000, which is partly covered by insurance. The mill destroyed was a new one owned by Messrs. Henry Kuehl and J.H. Zummach, and on which there was no insurance. The theory advanced as to the cause of the fire is that, at threshing, considerable gas generates and a spark, due to friction in some part of the running mill, will set everything ablaze in a moment.41

The following obituary appeared in an undated newspaper clipping or transcription after 5 February 1946 :
One of the best known and most esteemed residents of this community, Marie Rose Zummach, widow of the late William Ristow, passed away on Sunday morning, February 3rd, at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Kuehl, with whom she had been living for the past five years. Taken suddenly ill four days previous, her death came as a shock to her family and friends.
Born at Osceola on February 22, 1862, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl Zummach. Her marriage to William Ristow in 1882 was performed by Rev. A. H. Helmerich in Old Hagarty church.
Apart from the twenty years lived in Kitchener and Saskatchewan following the death of her husband in 1933 (sic), her entire life was spent here. A kind, loving wife and mother, ever devoted to the welfare of the family, her quiet, unassuming manner endeared her to old and young.
Surviving are two sons and seven daughters: Charles Ristow of Kitchener, William Ristow and Mrs. R. F. Briscoe of Saskatoon, Mrs. T. Johnson of Vancouver, Mrs. August Summach of Asquith, Sask., Mrs. Samuel Henderson of Regina, Mrs. William Felhaber of Pembroke, Mrs. Fred Getz and Mrs. J. G. Kuehl of Killaloe. To them we extend our sincere sympathy.
There are thirty-five grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren.
The funeral, largely attended, was held at 1.30 o'clock, p.m., on Tuesday to Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. C. R. Weisser officiated and in his eulogy paid fitting tribute to the memory of this beloved pioneer resident. Pall-bearers were Willard Felhaber, Norman, Percy and Wilmar Getz, Melville and Orville Kuehl (grandsons). Beautiful floral tributes were received from members of the family, Saskatchewan and Kitchener friends, Ladies' Missionary Society, Calvary Baptist Church and relatives and friends in Killaloe.11

Auguste Fredericka Emile Berger1
F, #1735, b. 18 January 1842, d. 27 March 1909
Father* | Johan Gotlieb Berger1 b. b 1825 |
Mother* | Justine B Butzin1 b. b 1825 |
Relationship | 2nd great-grandmother of Richard Graeme Moffat |
Last Edited | 15 Nov 2023 |
She was born on 18 January 1842 at Germany.2,3,4 Alternatively, she may have been born circa 1841 at Schonag Friedland Frankfort oder, Prussia/Preußen (modern Germany),1,5; or, circa 1843 at Germany according to the 1891 census.6 Auguste married Johann Friedrich Jurt on 17 December 1865 at Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada.7,1,6,5,4
Augusta F Emilie Berger died on 27 March 1909, on Lot 30, Conc 8, at Raglan Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada, at age 67 according to Ontario Death Registration 028003?2 The cause of her death was given as dropsy after an illness of 8 months according to Dr. Kiinder.2 The informant on her death registration was her son, Fred.2
Auguste Fredericka Emile Berger immigrated in 1863 to United Province of Canada from Germany according to the 1901 census.3
Frederick and Augusta Gurt appeared on the 1871 Canadian Census of Algona Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, enumerated 2 April 1871. Frederick was described as a Farmer and an Evangelical. Their children, Frederick, Anna and William, were listed as living with them. As were his parents, Gotlip Gurt and Elisabeth Gurt.5
Frederick and Augusta Ewit appeared on the 1881 Canadian Census of Raglan & Radcliffe Twps., Renfrew County, Ontario, enumerated 4 April 1881. Frederick was described as a W. Meth(odist) and a Farmer. Their children, Frederick, Anne and Eliza, were listed as living with them. Ibelieve this is the Jurt/Yourt family because: 1) all family names and estimated years of birth except Eliz/Louisa are correct, 2) Frederick and Augusta were born in Germany, 3) phonetically "Ewit" sounds right (English enumerators probably had problems with German names.)4
Frederick and Augusta Yurt appeared on the 1891 Canadian Census of Raglan & Radcliffe Twps., Renfrew County, Ontario, enumerated 6 April 1891. Frederick was described as an Evangelical. Their children, Frederick, Annie and Louisie, were listed as living with them. As were their granddaughters (Annie's daughters), Emma Doering and Rosanna Yurt. Note that Annie's daughter Esther is not enumerated which might support the 1891 birth date, if other primary documents did not give the 1890 date.6
Augusta Yurt appeared on the 1901 Canadian Census of Renfrew County, Ontario, enumerated 31 March 1901, described as being head of her own household and an Evangelick (sic).3
