    KILLARNEY, Man. - The funeral service for Mrs. L. Moffat, 77, a resident of the Holmfield district, who died Tuesday at her residence was held this week in Holmfield, with Rev. J.E. Bronw officiating. Burial was made in Holmfield cemetery. Born in Belmore, Ont., she moved west to the Brandon district as a young girl. After residing a short time near Sydney, Mrs. Moffat moved to Holmfield, where she had since resided. Her husband, Robert, died 12 years ago, and she is survived by seven sons, Herbert, Robert, Percy, Arthur, Russell, Frank and Roy, farming near the Enterprise district; six daughters, Mrs. S. Welsh, Mrs. R. Stacey, of Clearwater; Mrs. Roy Black, Mrs. W. Cullen, Mrs. L. Haight and Mrs. Gordon Armstrong. Also surviving are 45 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren..      Henry was born on 10 October 1883 in Kincardine Twp., Bruce County, Ontario, Canada, according to Ontario Birth Registration 003093.2,3 Alternatively, he was born in October 1884 in Ontario, Canada, according to the 1911 census.4 Henry married Olive Elizabeth Perkins on 31 October 1910 in Teeswater, Bruce County, Ontario, Canada.5,3,6,7 Henry married Georgina Maude Powley.8 He died on 8 March 1953 at age 69.9,10 Henry Albert Walton Lewis was buried in Park Lawn Cemetery, Toronto, York County, Ontario, Canada.8
Canadian Military Service:
     Pte Henry Albert Lewis began military service on 24 January 1916 at the age of 32 in Wainwright, Alberta, Canada. He gave his occupation as a hardware clerk. He was assigned to the 151st Overseas battalion and sailed from Halifax on the S.S. Lapland on Sep 23, 1916.9 His "Particulars of Family of an Officer or Man Enlisted in C. E. F." included the following: his wife, Olive Elizabeth Lewis, his child(ren), Mildred Georgina Lewis and Herbert Clark Lewis, his living parent(s), Jane Lewis.9
     On 30 November 1916 in France He went overseas with the 5th Battalion.9
     On 18 August 1918 He received gun shot wounds to his lower extremities (later reported as having a fractured pelvis and wound to right thigh) and was reported seriously ill at the General Hospital in Rouen on the 23rd. He was not removed from this list of dangerously ill until Sep 6, 1918.9
     On 14 July 1919 He was invalided to Canada.9
     Henry Albert Walton Lewis ended his military service on 13 January 1920 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada,

     Brian was born in 1937.3 He died in February 1984 Brian Roy Moffat died suddenly at the age of 47. Brian was a pioneer breeder of Charolais cattle in Manitoba. He began raising them in 1958 and was one of the first beeders to import from France.4,5

After residing a short time near Sydney, Mrs. Moffat moved to Holmfield, where she had since resided. Her husband, Robert, died 12 years ago, and she is survived by seven sons, Herbert, Robert, Percy, Arthur, Russell, Frank and Roy, farming near the Enterprise district; six daughters, Mrs. S. Welsh, Mrs. R. Stacey, of Clearwater; Mrs. Roy Black, Mrs. W. Cullen, Mrs. L. Haight and Mrs. Gordon Armstrong. Also surviving are 45 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren..      Joseph was born on 12 October 1859 in Little River, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia (colony).3,4 He died on 13 September 1900 in Nova Scotia, Canada, at age 40.3
     The following biographical information appeared Yarmouth Reminiscences, 1902:
Joseph Smith, one of the crew of the Gloucester schooner Maud M. Story, Capt. Murray Larkin, was washed overboard during a gale on the 13th September, and was drowned. He was 39 years of age, and a native of Sluice Point, where he left a widow.5,3

     In the obituary of Eliza Jane Trefry who died 12 January 1922, Eliza's son, Joseph Smith was listed as a survivor.3,2
