Felhaber - Levere
In a double ring ceremony at the United Church, Winchester, Saturday July 17, Miss Marjorie Joyce Levere, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold G. Levere, became the bride of Mr. Alfred Willard Felhaber, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Felhaber, of Pembroke.
Rev. Norman J. Thomas officiated, and the altar was decorated with baskets of Summer flowers and ferns. The organ music was plated by Mrs. Howard Fetterly, and Miss June Rowat sang "The Voice that Breathed O'er Eden" and "Through the Years"
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by her twin sister, Mrs. Joy Miller, as matron of honor, and by Miss Hazel Felhaber, sister of the bridegroom, as bridesmaid. Mr. Clare Miller was best man and Mr. Duncan Levere and Mr. Lorne Byers were ushers.
The bride's white satin gown had an off-the-shoulder neckline and a nylon yoke edged with Chantilly lace and caught with seed pearls. The bodice was fitted, and the full skirt was caught up with three satin bows over a lace-edged petticoat. Her veil fell from a tiara of Lily-of-the-valley, and she carried a bouquet of Bettertime roses. She wore a six-strand pearl necklace and matching earrings, the gift of the bridegroom.
After a reception held at the home of the bride's parents, the couple left on a trip to Toronto and the Muskoka district. The bride's travelling costume was a powder blue crepe dress with black accessories and white topcoat, and she wore a corsage bouquet of red roses. Mr. and Mrs. Felhaber will live in Ottawa.

The following article appeared in the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Star-Phoenix, 27 July 1944 :
Miss Eva Joy Briscoe is Bride of Albert R. Horner
St. Andrew's Church, Saskatoon, beautifully decorated, was the setting for the wedding of Eva Joy Briscoe to Albert Ralph Horner of Blaine Lake, elder son of Mrs. J. Horner of Blaine Lake and the late Mr. J. Horner. The Rev. Horace West officiating. The bride, entering the church on the arm of her father, was beautifully attired in a floor-length gown of white sheer and floor-length veil of Tulle. Her bouquet was of pink delight roses and fern. Her only ornament was a string of pearls which had been worn by her mother on her wedding day.
Mrs. T. B. Johnson was matron of honor wearing a floor-length dress of romance blue sheer, with pink chapel veil. She carried a colonial bouquet of carnations, roses and sweet peas.
Miss Mae Louise Lundquest, bridesmaid, wore a floor-length gown of primrose yellow, with blue chapel veil held by a coronet of blue flowers. She carried a colonial bouquet of daisies, sweet peas and roses.
Mr. Lloyd Horner supported the groom, and Messrs. Bev. Goodfellow and Ray Summach were the ushers. During the signing of the register Miss Willa Corcoran sang sweetly, "I'll Walk Beside You." The accompanist was Mrs. Rempel who played the wedding marches and other nuptial music.
Following the ceremony the reception was held at the bride's home. Receiving with the bridal party were the bride's parents, and the groom's mother. Mrs. Briscoe wearing a two-piece dress of Persian lilac with purple accessories and corsage of mauve sweet peas and yellow roses. Mrs. Horner chose for the occasion a heavenly blue dress with black accessories and corsage of Talisman roses and pink sweet peas.
The bride's table was draped with a Chinese linen embroidered cloth and centered with pastel colored sweet peas. The three tiered wedding cake centered the buffet, flanked by bud vases of sweet peas. The Rev. Horace West proposed the toast to the bride, to which the groom made an appropriate reply. Mrs. A. Summach and Mrs. F. Getz, aunts of the bride, presided over the teacups. Mrs. H. D. Sinclair and Mrs. C. Palmer cut the ices. Mrs. Murray Little assisted in looking after the pleasure of the guests and the serviteurs were the Misses Iris Johnson, Gwen Little, Loris Summach and Eileen McCormack. Mrs. B. McCormack was in charge of the guest book. Miss N. M. Land and Miss D. Leard looked after the gift room.
Following the reception Mr. and Mrs. Horner left by car for Banff, the bride donning a dressmaker suit of aqua wool with British tan accessories and wearing a shoulder knot of Talisman roses.
