Golden Lake Man Believed Dead Now Found Alive
An interesting story is that of Joseph Ohlman, a native of Golden Lake, who was believed by his relatives to have been killed in an airplane accident many years ago and who quite recently has been reported to be alive and well. This word was received by his brother, Michael Ohlman, of Golden Lake, from a nephew, Lawrence Ohlman, who resides at Brent. It was long believed that Joseph Ohlman had met his death in a plane crash somewhere in the Red Deer Lake district in the period of the early rush of prospectors into that gold centre many years ago, and thought the body was never found or the report definitely confirmed, it was taken as a fact, nothing further being heard from or about him, and he was regarded by members of his family as dead. He has now been located at Hudson, Ont., has reached the age of 84 years, still rugged and in good health, and is planning to visit his Golden Lake relatives next summer.12

She was born on 7 November 1850 at Germany according to the 1901 census.4 Alternatively, she may have been born on 17 November 1850 at Ricknow, Brandenburg, Prussia/Preußen (modern Germany), according to her obituary. Note that her gravemarker gives her birth year as 1860 which means she would have been married at the age of 11. I presume this was an error on the part of the person ordering or inscribing the gravestone since both the birth and death dates are 10 years off.3,5; or, circa 1852 at Germany age 39 in the 1891 census.6 Alternatively, she may have been born in 1860 on her gravestone.2 Ernestine married Joseph Ohlman in 1871.3,2,4,5,6
Ernestine Wilhelmine Henriette Kurtzweg died circa 20 February 1920.1,7
Ernestine Wilhelmine Henriette Kurtzweg was buried at St. Leonard's Anglican Cemetery, Rockingham, Brudenell & Lyndoch Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada.2
She immigrated in 1860 to Canada from Germany.4 Her name was also recorded as Annie Hartwig. She immigrated in 1862 to Canada per her obituary, from Germany.3
Joseph and Annticia Oaldman appeared on the 1881 Canadian Census of Renfrew County, Ontario, enumerated 4 April 1881. Joseph was described as a Catholic and a Farmer.
