     He was born circa 1830 at Germany since he died at age 73 in 1903.^3,2 Alternatively, he may have been born on 29 July 1831 at France according to the 1901 census⁴; or, circa 1834 at Germany since he was age 47 in the 1881 census.⁶ Alternatively, he may have been born circa 1836 at France since he was age 55 in the 1891 census.⁵ Joseph married Ernestine Wilhelmine Henriette Kurtzweg in 1871.^7,8,4,6,5
     Joseph Ohlman died on 16 March 1903, at Lot 25, Conc 5, at Brudenell Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada, according to Ontario Death Registration 023884.^2,3 The cause of his death was given as La Grippe, two weeks ill.³ The informant on his death registration was his son, Clement Ohlman.³

Ohlman and Esther C. Schmidt on 12 June 1929.²⁰

     She was born on 7 November 1850 at Germany according to the 1901 census.⁴ Alternatively, she may have been born on 17 November 1850 at Ricknow, Brandenburg, Prussia/Preußen (modern Germany), according to her obituary. Note that her gravemarker gives her birth year as 1860 which means she would have been married at the age of 11. I presume this was an error on the part of the person ordering or inscribing the gravestone since both the birth and death dates are 10 years off.^3,5; or, circa 1852 at Germany age 39 in the 1891 census.⁶ Alternatively, she may have been born in 1860 on her gravestone.² Ernestine married Joseph Ohlman in 1871.^3,2,4,5,6
