Salome (female) or Soloman (male) -- that is the question. Ellen Shelly's friend Peter listed Soloman as a son of Christopher and Ann Patchett. The IGI records Salome as a daughter of the same couple. There are two marriages recorded for Salome, one in 1799 and the other in 1803. These could be for the same person. Both occurred in Skidbrook With Saltfleet Haven, Lincoln, England.11 She was Baptised/Christened on 17 September 1780 in Little Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England.5,4 She was a survivor of her husband John who died in 1801.4

The 1841 census does not provide marital status, and does not indicate head of household and relationships.3,1,2
