In Grandsire's 'Footsteps.
Two grandsons of Matt Belles and his wife Mary Renwick Belles and who have other relatives in Sycamore, are showing the "stuff' of which their sires were made, according to the following from a Clinton (Iowa) paper: Two sons of Policeman Henry Price are doing duty with other Clinton men in Brownsville. This is not so much in itself but it is family pride that the lads are ready for the fray in practically the same locality where Richard Price, their grandfather, fought in '45. The boys from Clinton are Walter and "Pat'' Price and word received from the former this morning bears the news that he [has] been promoted to the rank of first [ser]geant.
Note that damage to the lower right cornier of this article obscures parts of the last few lines. Contemporary articles in the Brownsville Herald speak of large multi-state National Guard training exercises being conducted in the area. (Rick Moffat, Jan 31, 2022.)12
