     She was also known as Katrine Hutchison.7 She was also known as Catharine Hutchison.8
     Catherin Gardiner appeared on the 1841 British Census of Scotland, Lanarkshire, in the household of Thomas Gairdner, and she was listed as Independent.5,9 Mrs. Gardnerwas found on a passenger list with Thomas Gardner and David Gardner on 1 July 1842 at New York, New York, USA. Their party also included other family members: Mrs. Gardner, Mrs. Davie, Cath'rn Davie, Thomas Davie and Thomas Gardenr. Note that the last Thomas has a different spelling to his surname (indexed as Gardener, but I read Gardenr.) Was he a really family member?10

     He was born on 4 July 1821, Scotland.2,3,6 He was baptized on 6 August 1821 at Lanark, Lanarkshire, Scotland.2 Alternatively, he may have been born circa 1826 at Lanarkshire, Scotland, since he was about age 15 in the 1841 census5; or, in 1819 or 1820 at Scotland Since he was listed as 22 on the 1842 passenger list.7 David married Rebecca White, Bruce County, Ontario, Canada.8,1,4,6
     David Gairdner died on 10 July 1879, Ontario, Canada at age 58. I have been unable to find his Ontario Death Registration.9
     David Gairdner was buried at Kincardine Cemetery, Kincardine, Bruce County, Ontario Canada.10,9
     David was a beneficiary in the will of Thomas Gairdner on 6 January 1840.11
     David Gardiner appeared on the 1841 British Census of Scotland, Lanarkshire, in the household of Thomas Gairdner, and he was listed as an Ap Joiner (apprentice joiner.)5,12 David Gardner and Thomas Gardner were included on a passenger manifest for the "Congress" dated 1 July 1842 , arriving at New York, New York, USA. Their party also included other family members: Mrs. Gardner, Mrs. Davie, Cath'rn Davie, Thomas Davie and Thomas Gardenr. Note that the last Thomas has a different spelling to his surname (indexed as Gardener, but I read Gardenr.) Was he a really family member?7
     David Gairdner appeared on the 1851 Canadian Census of Clarke Twp., Durham County, Canada West (modern Ontario), in the household of Thomas Gairdner, and he was listed as a merchant, living at Manvers.13
     David and Rebecca R. Gairdner appeared on the 1861 United Province of Canada Census of Kincardine, Bruce County, Canada West (modern Ontario), enumerated 13 January 1861. David was described as a merchant. Their children, Robert, Catherine and Thomas, were listed as living with them. Note that age is given as the next birthday, and households were not explicitly identified.4
     David and Rebecca H. Gairdner appeared on the 1871 Canadian Census of Kincardine, Bruce County, Ontario, enumerated 2 April 1871. David was described as having no stated occupation. Their children, Robert, Catherane and Thomas J., were listed as living with them.6
     In the death registration of Thomas John Gardiner, who died on 2 March 1927, David Gardiner was identified as his father.14

     CLARKSBURG, Oct. 22. - A quiet and pretty wedding was solemnized at the Heathcote United parsonage on Saturday at 1.30 o'clock p.m., the Rev. Thomas R. White officiating, when Miss Marjory Grace Gekill, younger daughter of Mr. John and the late Mrs. Gekill, became the bride of Mr. Amos Heslip, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Heslip, all of Collingwood township. The bridesmaid was the bride's sister, Miss Verna Gekill, and the groom was supported by Mr. Kenneth Feighen.
     After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Heslip left by motor for Huron County on their honeymoon. On return they will reside at Lorre In Collingwood township.5
