MRS. JOHN GEKILL DIED ON THURSDAY
     Well Known Lady Passes After a Brief Illness
     CLARKSBURG, Nov. 23 —The death of Mrs. John Gekill occurred at her home on the 10th con., Collingwood twp., on Thursday after a few weeks illness; she had Just attained her 50th birthday on the 10th of November, her maiden name was Elizabeth May, daugher (sic) of Mr. Joseph and the late Mrs. May, residing now in Clarksburg, and was one of a family of five, those surviving are: Mrs. Walters, London Ont; Mrs. D Jessop, Sask; Mrs. Frank Feighen, 10th Con; Mrs. Mat. Dillon, Thornbury. She also had four half sisters and one half brother, all living.
     They had a family of four daughters, Mrs. Andrew Davies, on the 10th Con., Collingwood; Hazei, Marjory, Verna, all at home.
     The funeral will be hold on Saturday afternoon to Union Cemetery. Service at the house. Rev. F. S. Goff, officiating.14

The late Mrs. John Gekillwas recorded as the bride's mother at the marriage of Amos Heslip and Marjory Grace Gekill on 17 October 1936.14
