WALKER MOFFATT.
The descendants of two of the best known pioneer families of Renfrew were the principals in one of this season's most popular and charming wedding ceremonies, when Miss Olive Kennedy Moffatt, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Moffatt, of Renfrew, was married yesterday to Mr.' Harry James Walker, son of the late Rev. J. A. K. Walker and Mrs. Walker, now of Ottawa.
Both bride and groom are well known to a host of friends. The bride is one of the most popular ladies in Renfrew and is a graduate of MacDonald Hall, Guelph. She was assistant dietitian at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal, and was dietitian at the Protestant General Hospital of Ottawa. The groom is employed in the government service, being on the staff of the department of labor, and, formerly, was prominently identified with the newspaper fraternity of the Capital, His newspaper career was interrupted in 191fi when he enlisted with the Canadian artillery and was in active service from the Salient to the Somme
Rev. William Walker of Perth, Ont., an uncle of the groom, officiated, the ceremony being of a quiet nature, only the immediate relatives of the contracting parties being present. The event took place at the home of the bride's parents in Renfrew, the rooms being especially attractive with floral decorations.
Miss A. Moffatt. sister of the bride, presided at the piano, playing the bridal numbers and while the register was being signed. Mrs. H. Wi Airth contributed an appropriate vocal solo with much charm.
Mrs. J. A. K. Walker, of Ottawa, mother of the groom, was present for the ceremony. Other guests were Miss Ruth Walker, a sister of the groom; Mr. G. 8. Walker of Toronto, and the Misses Edith and Katherine Moffatt of Winnipeg.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was lovely in a gown of white embroidered crepe meteor, and she wore a white picture hat, and carried a shower bouquet of Ophelia roses and lilies of the valley. She also wore a gift from the groom of a platinum bar pin set with diamonds.
Mr. and Mr. Walker have left on a wedding trip f the Laurentians, the bride travelling in a costume of navy blue poiret twill and a black mohair hat. The couple will take up residence in Ottawa after September 1st.10
