They apparently transitted through New York.13 Julius and Minnie Heins immigrated in 1876 to Canada from Germany via New York, accompanied by August, Albert, Louisa and Bertha.14,8,15,16 He lost hiswife, the former Amelia Hein, in 1886.4

PEMBROKE, Dec. 5. — At the age of 94, Julius Panke, resident of this district for over 60 years, died Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Nienkirchen, Alice township.
Born in Germany in 1844. Mr. Panke came to Canada in 1876 and settled in Wilberforce township, where he farmed until his retirement from active work and went to live with his daughter, His wife, formerly Amelia Hein, died in 1886, and two sons also predeceased him, August in 1918 and Herman in 1937.
Surviving are one son. Albert Panke. Golden Lake, and three daughters, Mrs. Louise Krueger; and Mrs. Chas. Peters, Pembroke, and Mrs. Chas. Nienkirchen, Alice. There are also 36 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Druve, Pembroke.
The funeral will take place Tuesday afternoon, with service at the home conducted by Rev. L. H. Pletch of Pembroke. Burial will be in the Evangelical cemetery at Petawawa.4
