She was born in 1818 at Scotland according to her death registration.3 Alternatively, she may have been born circa 1819 at Scotland since she was age 62 in the 1881 census.4 Jane married Adam Hume before 1837.5,6,7
Jane Murray Hume died on 8 December 1890 at Puslinch Twp., Wellington County, Ontario, Canada, according to Ontario Death Registration 018028. The informant was James Hume.3 The cause of her death was given as "infirmities of age."3
Jane Hume appeared on the 1881 Canadian Census of Puslinch Twp., Wellington County, Ontario, enumerated 4 April 1881. Jane was described as having no stated occupation. 6 year old Adam Kingsbury was included in her household. From other sources we know he was her grandson.4
The following analysis is from my personal research and reflects my attempts to consolidate information from different sources.
I believe that Jane Hume enumerated in the 1881 census was Jane Hume née Murray, widow of Adam Hume. Her son Robert married Mary Ann Kingsbury. Their son, Adam Kingsbury, age 6 was enumerated as part of her household.
Based uopn the reported birth year for the first Peter Hume, Jane Murray was probably born before 1822. Jane (Hume), enumerated in 1881 gave her age as 62, giving her an estimated birth year of 1819.8,4
