This is a rabbit hole that Gerry and I went down hwile looking for details on Archie Thompson's 3rd daughter, Gladys. As it turned out, Gregory William Colmer is not of interest to our research
From Gerry Mattinson:
Hi Rick,
You can view the headstone for Gregory William Colmer & Gladys Edythe Thompson at:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~murrayp/muskoka/watt/ufford/colmer1.jpg(note - this website is no longer available Sep 2020)
And Ancestry has Gregory's birth reg:
Gregory William Colmer, b 09 Jun 1910 in Park Road, Brantford Twp., Brant, Ontario, s/o Frederick Charles Colmer (machinist) & Caroline Sowder* - they married Jan 1, 1903 in Waterloo.
Note that Gladys was born before the 1918 marriage of Elsie Pearl Jacks to Archie Wylie Thompson so I'm not certain whether Archie is Gladys' birth father. Also, Gladys is not shown in the 1911 census with Elsie - her Ont. Birth Reg. says she was the d/o Allen Es. Thompson & Edythe Louise Haw (but I have not discovered how Allen related to Archie).
I believe Caroline's maiden name is actually Souder based on her birth registration, the 1881 census and her obituary:
Ontario Birth Registration (LDS transcript)

Nov 10, 1955 Canadian Statesman (Bowmanville):
MRS. FREDERICK C. COLMER
After an illness of about six weeks, Mrs. Frederick Colmer passed away at Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville, on Oct. 23 at the age of 75. The deceased was born in Waterloo County on Dec. 5, 1879, Caroline Souder, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Souder. Mr. and Mrs. Colmer came to Bowmanville in 1919 from Brantford where Mr. Colmer was a machinist with the Brantford Scale & Slicer Co. With J.H. Needham and the late George Brown, Mr. Colmer came here to set up the Bowmanville Scale & Slicer Co. and he worked tehre until it was closed about 1930. Mrs. Colmer's interests were in her family of three boys, her home and church. She was a member of Trinity United Church and an active worker in the Women's Association and Women's Missionary Society. She was also a past president of Bowmanville Women's Institute.
Mr. Colmer predeceased her in August, 1939, when he met a tragic death in a car accident at Brighton. Mrs. Colmer has no brothers or sisters surviving, being the last member of her family. Her three sons survive: Harold and Herbert of Bowmanville, and Gregory of Bracebridge. Funeral service was held in the Morris Funeral Chapel, Bowmanville, on Oct. 25, and a service was also held at the Hill and Robinson Chapel, Brantford, the following day, both conducted by Rev. T.A. Morgan of Trinity United Church, Bowmanville. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Brantford. Many lovely floral tributes spoke of the esteem in which Mrs. Colmer was held...
