In a 2002 birthday card, Janet (Moffat) Hume wrote:
Dear Graeme,
To wish you a Happy Birthday. I can remember the day so many years ago. Annie and I were driving the horse & buggy to school in town and Herb was with us to stay with Aunt Janet. (Riddell - older sister of their father, Alfred Moffat) Big snowflakes were falling but we were using wheels. When we went over town after school to pick up the mail, someone told us we had a baby brother, the first we knew all the "why's" - children weren't told a lot [of] things then as they are today. I also remember that Annie or Herb had the whooping cough, and so we couldn't see the baby when we arrived home... Love, Janet.
Graeme Moffat appeared in the 1921 Canadian Census of RM of Enniskillen No. 3, Saskatchewan in the household of his parents, Alfred and Myrtle Moffat.11 Graeme was ill with polio at age 3 or 4. He was paralyzed to the neck. His primary care was provided by his mother, with occassional visits from the local country doctor. Dad always liked to have his ears rubbed and I have wondered if this goes back to his polio. I suspect Grandma touched his ears since he could feel the touch, and it became a reassurance to hm.
Dad later took early retirement due to respiratory problems linked to this polio. He started using oxygen in 1984, and had a tracheotomy in about 1992 so that he could use a ventilator to assist his breathing at night. For the last few years he was on his ventilator full time, but Lori had rigged up his motorized chair to accomodate it, so that he was still able to be mobile.9 He began his education in circa 1926, attending Munro public school and Frobisher High School. He graduated in June 1940.12
The following information is from my personal research, circa September 1940:
In the obituary of Alfred Moffat who died 4 May 1942, his son, Graeme Moffat was listed as a survivor.13 He was educated between 1943 and 1946 earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Ontario, Guelph, Puslinch Twp., Wellington County, Ontario, Canada. He remained in Ontario for about a year in practice at Orono, probably with Dr. Will W. Sherwin.9 He was listed as a witness to the marriage of Annie Elizabeth Moffat and Clarence William Harvey on 8 April 1944 at Wellington United Church, Brantford, Brantford Twp., Brant County, Ontario, Canada.14,15,16,17 Graeme Francis Moffat started his veterinary practice in Asquith in 1947.9,1819

He was baptized in the Asquith Baptist church by Rev. Mr. Edwin Bachlin in about 1953. The family story is that Jackie spoke out loudly in the church after her Daddy got all wet.9 In 1962 Graeme Francis Moffat started with the Health of Animals as a federal meat inspector. He trained and worked at Intercontinental Packers in Saskatoon. Occassionally he worked short periods at Burns Foods in Prince Albert.9
In 1965, Graeme and Estella moved from Asquith to 1327 King Crescent, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. They did not like the original house they had chosen, so they had the movers close up the moving van and put our stuff in storage. They then found a house under construction on King Crescent that we moved into a few weeks later. We lived in a motel during this period.9
Marshall Andrews bought our house in Asquith. He was the son of Captain E.S. Andrews a maritimer who came West in 1884. The Temperance Colonization Society hired him to take a steam-boat from Medicine Hat to Saskatoon with a cargo of building supplies for the new colony. During the Riel Rebellion, he sailed on the Northcote to Batoche, which took gunfire during the fighting. According to a plague on the river bank in Saskatoon, he was awarded a medal for his bravery.9,21

In January 1978, Graeme and Estelle moved from Moose Jaw to Lincoln Road, Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. Dad had chosen to transfer to a new job in the Clearwater/Abbotsford area. His reasoning was that since they planned to retire there, this way the government paid for the move.9
In the obituary of Delbert Justin Summach who died 5 December 1983, his brother-in-law, Graeme Moffat, was listed as a survivor.23 Graeme took early retirement on a disability pension in in 1984 at Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada.9
On 1 June 1991, Graeme and Stella moved from Abbotsford to Saskatoon.9

ASQUITH.--The Baptist Church was the scene of a wedding when Estelle Leona, daughter of Mr. Fred Summach and the late Mrs. Summach of Asquith, became the bride of Dr. Graeme F. Moffat (V.S.), son of Mrs. M. Moffat and the late Mr. A. Moffat of Frobisher.
Ferns, and garden flowers formed the setting for the ceremony at which Rev. R. J. Stade and Rev. A. T. Moffat, cousin of the groom, officiated.
As the wedding march was played by Miss Doreen Trevoy of Saskatoon, the bride entered the church on the arm of her father. She wore a gown of white satin and lace. Her floor length veil was fastened with a halo of tiny white flowers. Her bouquet was white carnations.
Miss Shirley Summach was her sister's bridesmaid and wore white taffeta with tiered skirt trimmed with blue. Her bouquet was white and pink carnations. She wore a halo of tulle and forget-me-nots.
Mr. Glenn K. Weir of Aberdeen was best man.
The little Misses Judy Seymour and Gaylene Summach, nieces of the bride, were flower girls. Gowned in pink and blue embroidered organdy and nosegays of asters, roses and sweet peas.
Ushers were Messrs. Kenneth and Manley Summach, brothers of the bride.

A reception followed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George
Seymour.Out-of-town guests included R. G. Moffat, Frobisher, Rev. A. T. Moffat, Dodsland, Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Hume, Carlyle.
