     Matilda was born on 16 January 1857 in Germany.2,3 Matilda married Ernest Webber before 1883.2,4 She died on 8 June 1939 at age 82.3 Matilda Ristow was buried in Lyndoch Baptist Cemetery, Brudenell, Lyndoch & Raglan Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada.3
     She also went by the name of Tillie.5 Her name was also recorded as Mathilda Augusta Ristow.6 She and Ernest Webber immigrated in 1880 to Canada from Germany.2 Matilda Ristow was a survivor of her child John who died in 1914.7 Matilda Ristow was a witness After both of their parents died of the flu in November 1918, Edith looked after Mabel and Ethel Weber until their grandfather Ernest Weber and his brother-in-law, Charles Ristow came from Ontario to pick them up. Edith accompanied them back to Renfrew County where they were raised by Ernest and his wife, Matilda.8
