Mr. August Goetz
The death occurred Sunday morning of August Goetz at his home in Killaloe. Mr. Goetz had been in failing health for the past month. Born in 1851 in Pommern, Germany, Mr. Goetz came to Canada in 1872 and settled in the vicinity of Killaloe. The same year he married Miss Gustava Albrecht. To them were born eight children.His wife died fifteen years ago, following the marriage in 1888 and he then married Miss Sophial Verch, who died 27 years later. Several years later he married Rs. Mary Eckel, who survives him. Some 30 years ago he and his wife retired to live in Killaloe with his, (sic) John Goetz. Mr. Goetz had been a faithful member of the Evangelical Church. For 25 years he was deacon in the Baptist Church at Killaloe and for the past 21 years he had been a local preacher in the Evangelical Church at Killaloe. Surviving are his wife, three sons and three daughters, Herman, Fred and John Goetz of Killaloe; Mrs. Nicholas Kranz, Mrs. Kasten and Mrs. Alex. Potter, 43 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and a host of friends. Pall bearers were Edgar Goetz, L. Goetz, Allan Patter, Mervin Goetz, George Krantz and Fred Goetz of Killaloe.5
The death occurred Sunday morning of August Goetz at his home in Killaloe. Mr. Goetz had been in failing health for the past month. Born in 1851 in Pommern, Germany, Mr. Goetz came to Canada in 1872 and settled in the vicinity of Killaloe. The same year he married Miss Gustava Albrecht. To them were born eight children.His wife died fifteen years ago, following the marriage in 1888 and he then married Miss Sophial Verch, who died 27 years later. Several years later he married Rs. Mary Eckel, who survives him. Some 30 years ago he and his wife retired to live in Killaloe with his, (sic) John Goetz. Mr. Goetz had been a faithful member of the Evangelical Church. For 25 years he was deacon in the Baptist Church at Killaloe and for the past 21 years he had been a local preacher in the Evangelical Church at Killaloe.
