     He was born circa 1816 at Wales according to the 1850 census.3 Alternatively, he was born on 23 October 1814 at Wales according to researcher Thomas H. McCorkill.1 or on 25 November 1814 at Denbighshire, Wales.5 Hugh married Ann Evans on 24 January 1842 at Wilmington, Dearborn County, Indiana, USA.3,6,7
     He died on 16 August 1850 at Dearborn County, Indiana, USA. Note that this was after the official census enumeration date of 01 Jun 1850, but before the actual enumeration occurred the next month. Since George and Martha Jane married on 1/2/1861 this must be a son born to Martha Evans before she married George Tebow . No indication of place of birth/death, but probable in either Dearborn Co, IN or Hamilton Co, OH.2

     George Tebow and Martha J. Tebow appeared on the 1870 U.S. Federal Census of Grasshopper Falls Twp., Jefferson County, Kansas, enumerated 14 June 1870, enumerated as a farmer. Their children Helen Ida, Henry Francis, Thomas Langdale, Louie Armenta and Bertha Mae were listed as living with them. Their household included her brothers, James S. Jackson and Charles H. Jackson.5
George Tebow and Martha J. Tebow appeared on the 1920 U.S. Federal Census of Springdale, Washington County, Arkansas, enumerated 3 January 1920, enumerated without showing an occupation. His divorced brother, George McCorkill was included in the household.12
     George Tebow registered for the draft in June 1863 at Elizabethtown, Hamilton County, Ohio, USA. He was listed as an unmarried farmer, so is this the correct George Tebow, or did he neglect to mention that he was married and the father of one child?.15
     The following newspaper article appeared 1883 :
GEORGE TEDBOW (sic), farmer and stock-raiser, Section 30, P. O. Winchester, one of the progressive and substantial farmers of the State, is the subject of this sketch. He is a native of Ohio, and was born in Hamilton County, April 20, 1839, and was reared and educated in the Buckeye State. He resided a few years in Indiana; from there returned to Ohio, and came to Kansas i n 1870, locating in Jefferson County. He was married in Indiana to Miss M. J. Evans, an estimable lady of Dearborn County. By this union they have six children - Henry F., Louie A., Thomas L., Bertha M., Flora A., and Olive H.16

     George Tebow was recorded as father of the bride at the marriage of Thomas H. McCorkill and Flora Tebow on 7 March 1894.17

     In the obituary of Bertha May Tebow who died 16 March 1947, her brother, George Tebow of Sherman, Texas, was listed as a survivor.14

This household included two of Ella's children by a previous marriage, Willie Brown and Maggie Brown and her brother, Mike Harney.8
