Military Service - WWI Royal Field Artillery

     Marsh Kirman began military service on 16 July 1915 at the age of 37 at Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England, joining the 1st North Midland Brigade, Royal Field Artillery as a driver. His service number was 2009, later changed to 801051.^12,13
     On 21 January 1918, His service file contains a letter from S. Kirman submitting a marriage certificate and birth certificate submitted regarding Marsh's wife deserting him for another man. They had three children. There are several subsequent requests for the return of these documents.
     A Military Histroy Sheet includes detals of his family. It is poorly reproduced, so some details are obscured. His wife was Florence Baumber, a spinster, and the children were: Charles ...dred born 20 ... 1902 and 2 other children but the details are illegible.¹³
