William married Charlotte Abel before 1848 at Prussia/Preußen (modern Germany).3,4,5,6
His name was also recorded as William Runz.7
Are John F W Runtz and William Runtz the same individual? Initial W could be for William. Both were married to Johanna Charlotte Abel.8
William and Charlot Runtz appeared on the 1871 Canadian Census of Sebastopol Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, enumerated 2 April 1871. William was described as a Farmer and a Baptist.. Their children, Auguste, Wilhelmine, Ferdinand, Frederick, Carl and Willam, were listed as living with them. As was his wodowed father, David Runtz.2
William Runz was recorded as the father of the bridegroom at the marriage of Carl Runz and Minnie Hein on 17 January 1881.9
William Runtz is referenced in my analysis of Carolina Runtz and Carl Frederick William Runtz in June 2018; It appears that Carolina Runtz , daughter of Charles Frederick Able and Lena Risk, was actually their foster daughter. Based upon her identification as a sister of Carl Frederick William Runtz, her biological parents were William Runtz and Charlotte Abel. Were Charles Able and Charlotte Able siblings?8
