His name was recorded as Karl Christlieb Ristaw on his birth registration.4
He was commonly known as Christy.7
The following biographical information was shared at Marlene O'Neil's ancestry posting and follow up email, say 2000:
According to Marlene O'Neil in an Ancestry.com posting:
Christlieb RISTAU birth 1907, Father: Johann Wilhelm RISTO b: 7 JUL 1862 in Simkau, Germany; Mother: Alivna NEITZELMANN b: 1868. She shows his spouse as a "living" Junop.

In response to my inquiry for more details, she responded: Hi there. I reviewed what I have in my database and Chritlieb (Uncle Christy as he was referred to) was the brother of my ggrandmother Sovena (Sophia Elsa) Ristow (married to Gustav Romhild) Further per Christy - the family oral history indicated he lived in Niagra Falls area and that his wife was indeed Esther Junop. As I had no information on her the name comes up as living in my tree. I have no information further on him or her other than the birth date and it is approximated as 1907 (not sure could be census or obit notice) I had much information by oral history - and some pieced from obits. Tom Carkner also provide information to me (he has a website on Germans in Ottawa and has published a book as well on the issue. He provided me with the parents of my ggrandmother - Unfortunately my books are packed while I repaint and renovate my office at home so I cannot look up my sources at this time.8
