William Wesley Fallis, his father William (Muggins) Fallis were in the group of first settlers who ventured west, by train ,from Millbrook, Ontario, to the Plum Creek district (Souris ), in the spring of 1881, to take up newly available homesteading land in the Northwest Territories. They were the first group of families assembled by a colonization syndicate formed in Millbrook, and led west by Squire W.H. Sowden. The Fallis family settled on land about 4 miles northeast of Souris. After they were settled, Muggins sent for his wife Mary Anne and their other five children, Adeline, Harriet, Herbert, Eleanor, and Joseph.
About the same time, in 1882 Henry Liston (a recent widower) from Scotland was attracted by the availability of homestead land in Western Canada. He moved to Plum Creek area and set himself up on a 1/4 section, 6 miles east of Souris. Once settled he sent back to Scotland for his five children: Julian, Robert, Emily, Gertrude and John. The two families became friends and in 1897 William Wesley and Emily Liston married. They established themselves on a 1/2 section of land 2 miles west of the Liston Homestead. Wes and Emily farmed this land from 1897 to 1929, where their 11 children were all born and raised.
Their eldest son William Henry Fallis born 23 Mar 1899, died 1959 in Winnipeg, married Jean Cassel Moffat, d/o William Moffat and Alice Maud Sutton 18 Oct 1922, in Brandon. They had two sons, Jean died 16 Sep 1967, in Tulsa Oklahoma.1

He was born on 15 August 1910 at Hagarty Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada, according to Ontario Birth Registration (043044). He was listed as an unnamed "anonymous" male who died the next day. Note that Milton is enumerated with the family of Willam and Lena Zummach in the 1911 census, but the row is crossed out. There is an illegible entry in the age column. This likely indicates that he was stricken from the enumeration when it was realized that he was deceased.3,1,6,2 The informant on his birth registration was John Zummach, his uncle.4
Zummach died on 16 August 1910 at Hagarty Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada, living 12 hours according to his uncle, John H Zummach on according to Ontario Death Registration 026680. His gravemarker indicates he lived one day.
There was no given name recorded on his death registration. It appears to read "anonymous" Zummach.3,1,5 The informant on his death registration was his uncle, John H. Zummach.5
Milton Zummach was buried at Emmanuel (aka Immanuel) Baptist Cemetery, Hagarty Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, CanadaG.3,7,8,9
