     He was born on 14 September 1853 at Renfrew County, Canada West, United Province of Canada, according to his gravestone he died at the age of 73.8,10 Alternatively, he may have been born on 14 September 1854 at Canada West, United Province of Canada, in the 1901 & 1911 census11,12; or, circa 1851 at Renfrew County, Canada West, United Province of Canada, according to a transcription of his obituary he died at the age of 75.13 Alternatively, he may have been born circa 1856 at Canada West, United Province of Canada, according to the 1891 census.14,15 Louis married Gildas Gouiett on 2 September 1878 at Brudenell Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada.11,16,17,14,12,15
     Louis Mayhew died on 20 September 1926 at Radcliff Twp., Renfrew County, Canada West, United Province of Canada, at age 73 according to Ontario Death Registration 029694. at Lot 4, Conc 4.1,18,8,10 The cause of his death was given as cardiac dropsy related to hydroele (?) and hernia.10 The informant on his death registration was his daughter, Margaret Perrier. His father was identified as Peter Mayhew and Exildas Gouye.10
     Louis Mayhew was buried on 23 September 1926 at Sacred Heart/Holy Canadian Martyrs R.C. Cemetery (Old), Combermere, Radcliffe Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada.8,10
     Louie and Julius Mayhew appeared on the 1891 Canadian Census of Raglan & Radcliffe Twps., Renfrew County, Ontario, enumerated 27 May 1891. Louie was described as a Roman Catholic and a farmer. Their children, Henry, Alfred, Desara, Florence and William, were listed as living with them.14
     Louis and Exildans Mayhew appeared on the 1901 Canadian Census of Raglan & Radcliffe Twps., Renfrew County, Ontario, enumerated 31 March 1901, described as a farmer and a Roman Catholic. Their children: Fred, Joseph Desire, Florence, Willie, Maggie, Lizzie and Ned, were listed as living with them. They were enumerated next to the Napoleon and Victoria Mayhew household.11
     Lewis and Azilda Mayhew appeared on the 1911 Canadian Census of Radcliffe Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, at Lot 4, Conc 4, enumerated 6 June 1911. Lewis was described as a farmer and a Roman Catholic. Their children Alfred, Dezera, Florence, William, Maggie, Lizzie and Edward were listed as living with them. As well as their grandson, Henry Mayhew who may have been Maggie's son.12
     Louis Mayhew was recorded as father of the bride at the marriage of Thomas William Cochrane and Elizabeth Mayhew on 31 May 1915.19
     Louis and Xyldos Mayhew appeared on the 1921 Canadian Census of Radcliffe Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, enumerated 6 June 1921. Louis was described as a farmer on his own farm, and a Roman Catholic. Their children Edward and Margaret were listed as living with them. As well as their grandchildren, Laurence Perrier and Mulvena Perrier.15
     The following obituary appeared in the newspaper The Eganville Leader published in Eganville, Ontario 8 October 1926 :
Died on Sept. 20, (1926): Mr Louis Mayhew, of Combermere. Of old French Canadian stock, the late Mr Mayhew was born in Renfrew 75 years ago. For many years he had lived on his farm near Combermere.18

The late Louis Mayhewwas recorded as the groom's father at the marriage of Edward Mayhew and Laura Mayhew on 26 November 1928.20,16
