The following biographical information is from my (Rick Moffat's) personal knowledge or recollections, 2017:
Alfred Moffat worked on Thomas' Pasqua Farm. It is likely that he met his future wife, Myrtle White there as she was an aunt of Ethel Gertrude Johnston, Thomas' wife. Thomas gave away the bride at their wedding in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in August 1909.

A postcard addressed to Miss Myrtle White at Pasqua, Saskatchewan is dated Feb. 15, 1909.25

Wedded Fifty Years
On Saturday, January 9, the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mohr, Senior, was the, scene of an outstanding event in the Asquith district when they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Mohr, who were among the earliest pioneers of the district, were married 50 yars (sic) ago in Hartenholm, Holstein, Germany, emigrating to Trenton, Nebraska, in 1887 and coming to Canada in 1903 homesteading on their present farm about 9 miles south of Asquith. They are the parents of eight children, seven of whom are still living and who, with the exception of one son, Claus, of Paddockwood, and a daughter, Mrs. John Lentfer, of Burr Oak, Kansas, were all present at the anniversary. They also have 11 grandchildren.
Their large farm home accommodated 75 relatives and friends on Saturday evening, many old anecdotes were revived and Mrs. Summach played the accompaniments to the old time songs while Miss Jennie Summach played the guitar. Songs were also contributed by Misses Junop and Summach. The happy couple standing under an arch of white bells and streamers, were presented with a purse of gold, the presentation being made by James Smith, to which Mrs. Mohr fittingly replied. A beautifully decorated brides cake, tile work of Mrs. Ralph Mohr, formed the central figure in a delightful buffet luncheon. After midnight had struck, heralding the arrival of the tenth, Mrs. Mohr also also (sic) received congratulations upon her 71st birthday.9

He received his high school education at Milden, where his father was a minister, and at Regina College, then studied engineering for two years at the University of Saskatchewan. Later he was employed by the Canadian General Electric Company in Peterborough as production manager.

He enlisted in the R.C.A.F, in Toronto in July, 1940, and went overseas in the spring of 1941 as an observer with the rank of pilot officer. He saw service in bombing from England until October, 1941 and flew to Malta, where he was stationed, with the rank of flying officer, until March, 1942.

It becomes our painful duty this week to record the demise of Mrs. John Johnston of Kolapore, after an illness of only a few days. She was the daughter of the late T. B. White, whose sudden death a few years ago startled the whole community and filled it with regret.
Mrs. John Johnston was a woman of bright and cheerful disposition, tireless energy and complete forgetfulness of self when the sick were to be nursed or a friend needed her assistance. Many a sick room in the vicinity of her home will in the future ,miss her presence and ministering care. By her genial disposition she endeared herself to all who had the privilege of her acquaintance. Having had a great deal of sickness in her own family, it is no doubt greatly due to her own tireless nursing that she has been able, so far, to have kept the family circle complete.
There survive her, her mother, Mrs. T. B White of Collingwood, three sisters-Miss Myrtle White of Collingwood, Mrs. Wm. Johnston of Thornbury, and Mrs. Clifford Sine of Cobden;also five brothers-Messrs. T. B. White of Kolapore, George P. White of Idaho, Jas. L. White of Duncan, E. F. White of Cincinnati, Ohio, Robert H. White of Napinka, Man. and Bert White of Rochester, N.Y. She leaves, besides her sorrowing husband, 5 children,-Misses Sophia, Ethel, Mabel and Rhoda and Master Rob.
To the bereaved ones, we, in common with the whole community, extend our most sincere sympathy.. Hereinafter cited as Thornbury Herald and Grey Report.
