     She was born on 12 January 1907 at Nipissing District, Ontario, Canada, according to Ontario Birth Registration 0304491; or, circa 1905 at Killaloe, Hagarty Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada.2 Lily married August Julius Hartwick on 7 November 1923 at Bracebridge, Northumberland County, Ontario, Canada, both gave their occupation as millhand on their marriage registration (015321.) They were living in Campbellford.2
     Her name was also recorded as Jean L Bower on her marriage registration.2

     John E. Bowers died on 23 September 1930 at Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada, at age 59.3
     His name was also recorded as John Bower.4
     John and Emma Bowers appeared on the 1901 Canadian Census of Sinclair Twp., , Muskoka and Parry Sound District, Ontario, enumerated 31 March 1901, described as a farmer and a Methodist while she was Church of England.
