According to her birth registration, Mabel Elizabeth Angela Zummach was born on 22 May 1913 The registration was entered in the Hagarty and Richardson register for Renfrew County., at St .Vincent de Paul Hospital, Brockville, Ontario, Canada, according to her original birth registration 049959.11 Alternatively, she may have been born on 22 May 1912 at Hagarty Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada, according to her delayed statement of birth. The 1921 and 1931 census enumerations support this year.12,6,13,3,14,15,8,9 Mabel married Harold Edward Dunbar on 23 September 1931 at Newington, Osnabruck Twp., Stormont County, Ontario, Canada, according to Ontario Marriage Registration 019053.12,6,7,16

Her name was recorded as Angala Mabel Zummach on her birth registration according to her original birth registration registered in Sep 1913. This appears to be the registration by her birth mother. Her father is listed as unknown, but Zummach is her surname.
This birth date is a year later than the date from other sources. As early as 1940, Mabel was giving her birth year as 1912, so it is probably correct. We can only speculate why the difference in birth dates.18

Remarks on the crossing manifest card read: "Parents never resided in US. Has been attending bible school at Three Hills, Alta now returning home." They were driving back to Ontario and were granted 1 week to transit the US. Mabel was described as 5' 2", with a medium complextion, dark hair, grey eyes and she wore glasses.20 Mabel Henry (sic) Dunbar and Harold Dunbar crossed the border on a temporary visit on 9 April 1941 at Sweetgrass, Toole County, Montana, USA, and party. They were driving back to Newington, Ontario and were granted 5 days to transit the US. Mabel was described as 5' 2", with a medium complextion, brown hair, grey eyes and she wore glasses.21
Mary Summach, Lester's wife, sent Mom some photos and a video of Orin Summach and family. Harold and Mabel Dunbar were included, and she noted that Mabel was an adopted daughter.22
