CUFF--PILGRIM
A wedding took place at the Avondale Baptist Church when the Rev, D. J. MacNab united in marriage Hazel Violet, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Pilgrim of Asquith, and Harry George Cuff, R.C.A., Maple Creek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cuff, Kinley. The bride was lovely in her wedding gown of white sheer and she carried a bouquet of pink and yellow roses and pink carnations. Her sister Grace, as bridesmaid, wore a floor-length gown of blue sheer and carried baby mums and snapdragons. Best man was Mr. Victor Robinson and ushers were Messrs Tommy Wellwood and Clifford Winder. Mrs. A. Downey played the wedding music. At the reception held at the home of the bride's parents Mr. and Mrs. Pilgrim, received the guests, the bride's mother wearing an afternoon frock of blue with navy accessories. The bridegroom's mother, chose for the occasion a black ensemble. For the wedding trip to Saskatoon and Young the bride donned a brown costume with tweed coat and blue accessories. Out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Pilgrim and family, Mrs. J. Ghertzen and Jimmy, Swift Current, Mr. and Mrs. Fred, Wilcox, Arelee (sic.)6

William Pilgrim of Asquith, and Clifford James, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Winder of Laura. Mrs. J. M. Baxter played the wedding music. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, looked charming In her wedding gown of white sheer, with which she wore a floor-length embroidered veil, held in place with small white flowers, and she carried a bouquet of red and yellow roses and pink carnations. Her only ornament was a necklace of pearls, the gift of the groom. Her sister, Esther, as bridesmaid, wore a floor-length gown of pink sheer and carried bronze baby 'mums and yellow snapdragons. The groom was attended by his brother, Pte. John Winder of Edmonton, and ushers were Messrs, Victor Robinson and Frank Winder.
