Henrietta Splottstosser was buried at Emmanuel (aka Immanuel) Baptist Cemetery, Hagarty Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, CanadaG.1
She was commonly known as Hattie Hartwick on her daughter Bertha's 1884 marriage registration, assuming it is the correct Bertha Hartwick.7 She and Friedrich Hartwig emigrated with Ernest Julius on 3 October 1877 from Port of Hamburg on the ship Gellert, Brandenburg, Prussia/Preußen (modern Germany), to Canada according to the 1911 census. The 1901 census gives their year of immigration as 1886, but they were included in the 1881 Canadian census, so the former date is probably accurate.8,4,2,9
Fredrich and Henerety Hartwick appeared on the 1881 Canadian Census of Hagarty & Jones Twps., Renfrew County, Ontario, enumerated 4 April 1881. Fredrich was described as a farmer and a Baptist. Their children, William, Bertha, Herman, Octo, Gusta, Earnest, Annie W. and Elisa, were listed as living with them.5

He was born on 4 February 1869 at Germany 1881 and 1911 census and gravestone. His marriage registration indicates he was born in Germany. Ruth Pilgrim gives his birthplace as Neuwedel in Germany.10,6,7,4,9 Alternatively, he may have been born on 6 February 1868 at Germany 1901 census gives his place of birth as Canada, but if his parents did not immigrate to Canada until 1877 or 1886 (1911 and 1901 census, respectively) then he must have been born in Germany. This is confirmed by his marriage registration which gives his place of birth as "Germany Europe."8 Earnest married Wilhelmina Zummach on 12 November 1891 at Hagarty Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada, according to Ontario Marriage Registration 010720.11,12,10,13,6,2,7,8 Ernest married Annie Martha Budarick on 10 December 1917 at Killaloe, Hagarty Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada.14,15,16
Ernest Julius Hartwig died on 6 September 1933 at Hagarty Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada, at age 64 according to Ontario Death Registration 029282. The informant was Herman Hartwig.10,1,4

The 1901 census gives their year of immigration as 1886, but they were included in the 1881 Canadian census, so the former date is probably accurate.19,7,8,4 Ernest Julius Hartwig immigrated on 16 October 1877 to New York, New York, USA.4
