The following biographical information was shared at Ada Flynn's self published booklet the Johnson Family Tree, 1972:
The earliest know Johnston of direct connection is Arthur Johnston, born 1779 in Enniskillen, Ireland, father of Sally, Bessie, Lancelot and Oliver Johnston who came to Canada in 1837.
This may not be a complete list of Oliver's brothers and sisters. The information, age and issue of the known brother and sisters is sketchy.
On page 6 she continued:
Many years ago much of the land around Enniskillen was owned by Lord Enniskillen. The property, which Is here called the "Homestead" was leased and consisted of 34 acres. Under the present operator, Jack Cheney, the acreage has been increased to 60 odd by leasing an adjacent piece of property when it became available. The "Homestead" has been operated by the Johnston and Cheney families for over 250 years.
The house supplied living quarters for the family at one end and the horses at the other. There are three doors in the front of the house, one to the kitchen, one to the living room and one to the horse stable. The walls made of stone were whitewashed. The thatched roof was renewed every six to nine years. In more recent years the roof was modernized. The dirt floor was replaced with large flagstones about 1904. The fireplace was like a little room about ten feet long and six feet deep, near the centre of the building. There were benches on either side and one could walk in and sit behind the fire and read a newspaper by the light which came in the chimney. Pork could be hung in the chimney to smoke.
A new house was built in front of the old one some time between 1945-1956. A friend of Jim Johnston's, who visited there in 1964, described the house as beautiful and the people who lived there, Jack and Etta Cheney, as grand folk.1

The following biographical information appeared at Ada Flynn's self published booklet the Johnson Family Tree, 1981:
At this time (1902 -- when her mother passed away), Ina, who had attended art school in Toronto, was a nurse in training in Philadelphia.
Many of us remember ma when she and her husband, Dr. Franck, visited in Canada in 1914. Some years later she moved to Carlsbad, California where she owned and operated an avocado grove. After twenty years near the Pacific, she moved to Hemet on the mountain where the climate was more suitable for her health.
On her return in 1937, after spending some time touring Mexico, she wrote a book "A Jaunt by Mexican Bus". It was considered the best of its kind written and was recommended for use of anyone touring Mexico.
In September of 1969, a cataract was removed from her eye. A few days later she suffered a stroke, after which she was unable to communicate. She remained in the hospital until her death In April, 1970. She is buried in the Union Cemetery, Thornbury, Ontario, Canada.1

Drowning at Palmer Rapids
It was a great shock to the whole community when the news spread on Thursday evening last that Ferdinand Liebenthal, eldest son of Frank Liebenthal, perished in the Madawaska river. The victim had been working on the Combermere road, and after supper he and Garnet Easton got into a canoe to sail down to Proudfoot's store to get some provisions. On the way back -- near the bridge at Mr. Fred Krieger's -- the canoe upset in the current. Mr. Liebenthal jumped and made an effort to swim to the shore but it would seem the current was too strong and he turned back to the canoe. He reached the mark but was too exhausted to get into it. He sank beneath the treacherous waters and drowned. Mr. Easton stayed with the canoe until rescued by John Krieger and Thomas Phanenhaur.28

Thomas Oliver Johnston and Anna Rogers of Lot 6, Concession 6, Pickering Township were married in 1887. They settled on a farm near Claremont owned by the general store-keeper, Hugh Mechim, sharing the house and farm work with Sophia and Henry Russell. Their son Stanley was born here, same house, same day as Cora Russell.
The big problem on this farm, Lot 19, Con. 7, was the shortage of water. After eight wells had been tried, the problem was finally solved many years later by Norman Burton who had a well drilled. Tom and Anna were on this farm for three years then spent a year in Toronto where Tom used his team as he worked on the preparation for the first electric street cars. Previous to this street cars were horse drawn. During the year he bought a fifty-acre farm in Howick Township from John Clegg; moving to it, two and one half miles south of Gorrie and five miles from his brother Arthur, in 1892. Here their daughter Vera was born.
In 1918 Tom and Anna retired to Gorrie, where both were active in community and church work. Anna was especially active in the Women's Missionary Society of the Methodist Church, later the United Church. In 1914 she was elected District Superintendent of the Wingham District of the London Conference Branch of the W.M.S. which office she held for seven years.

The thousands of Canadians who live in daily terror of those terrible forms of Kidney Disease known as Backache, Gravel and Rheumatism, will be deeply interested in the story of Mrs. Fred. Krieger, of this place.
"I was for years a great sufferer from Kidney Disease, Gravel, Rheumatism and Backache." Mrs. Krieger states. "It all started through a cold, but I got so my head ached. I was nervous, my limbs were heavy, I had a dragging sensation across my loins, and I was totally unfit to do anything.
"Reading about wonderful cures by Dodd's Kidney Pills led me to buy some. After taking a few I found they were doing me good and this encouraged me to continue their use. Eight boxes made me well."
"I have been able to do my own work ever since and to-day I am completely cured. Dodd's Kidney Pills gave me health and I feel like a new woman."
If you keep your Kidneys strong and healthy you can never have Backache, Rheumatism or Gravel. Dodd's Kidney Pills never fail to make the Kidneys strong and well.20
